DPP successfully re-tendered a contract to supply 200+ pubs & restaurants with electrical and mechanical maintenance. In addition to renewing the PPM and reactive contract for electrical and mechanical we have also been awarded the AC and Ventilation PPM and reactive maintenance ensuring we provide this client with the full electrical and HVAC package across their estate.
DPP has invested in new corporate workwear to help maintain the positive image of our company and team of engineers. The new workwear incorporates several changes, in response to ideas for improvements provided by our engineers during widespread discussions. The new workwear is being rolled out in September alongside all new PPE.
We have invested in training to make sure all our mechanical engineers are fully aware of and able to put into practice the industry safe working procedure for the isolation of electrical supplies. The course our engineers completed is underpinned by requirements laid down in the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671.
In July and August, DPP had a huge training drive, working with our training providers, to ensure all our electricians and NIC EIC qualified supervisors completed their training for the latest edition of BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and obtained the required certification.
The 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) was published in July 2018. All new electrical installations need to comply with BS 7671:2018 from 1st January 2019.
Following consultation with our waste management company, we have changed our waste facilities to make it easy for everyone to recycle and to minimise the volume of waste we send to landfill.
45+ desk bins have been removed and replaced with five general waste bins and three recycling bins, and we have replaced our twelve-yard skip with three general waste and two recycling bins. Now our engineers and everyone in our office needs to think about where their waste goes.
For the last three years, DPP has been providing electrical repair works to this leading operator of over 4,000 pubs nationally. Following an extensive tender exercise, DPP was awarded the contract to provide gas testing and heating/boiler maintenance at 700 sites for the next 3 years.
DPP successfully re-tendered for a contract to support 300 hotels with electrical testing and reactive maintenance, building on a successful existing relationship of six years.
DPP has started work for a new client in the pizza pasta restaurant sector providing electrical and HVAC maintenance services to 40 sites across the South and Central England including Central London.
ECS stands for the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme. This is the only ID and competence card scheme for electrotechnical operatives in the UK. It is recognised and endorsed by the industry. DPP has worked hard to ensure all our electricians and apprentices have an ECS card proving their electrician qualification status, main electrical occupation, health and safety awareness, and identity. It also carries any other qualifications they have. We will continue to maintain ECS cards for all DPP electricians.
